We offer a nappy loan scheme(you borrow the nappies for as long as you need), starter packs (you can buy new nappies from us at a fraction of their normal price), occasional free nappies and covers (as and when they become available) and we have a small team of Parent Nappy Supporters who are able to visit local events and provide talks at antenatal classes.

* Usually the packs contain a cottontail organic cotton velour nappy (as shown in the photo below) - unfortunately these are not available at the moment, so an additional mother-ease nappy and cover will be included instead. As soon as the cottontail nappies are available again, these will be put in the packs. Sorry for any disappointment this may cause.
To recieve a starter pack, please send the following infomation to East Sussex County Council and the starter pack will be posted to you:
1) Your name and address with postcode.
2) Your baby's date of birth or your due date.
3) For the mother-ease packs - the size and type of waterproof outer you require (small/medium/large; plain/patterned).
4) For the prefold or variety packs - the size of pack you require.
5) Where you heard about the starter packs (antenatal class, website, friend, etc).
6) A cheque for the appropriate amount.
Please make sure you state clearly which pack you require (prefold, mother-ease or variety).

We allow for 1 pack of each type to be purchased for each nappy-wearing child in a family. The intention is to give parents the opportunity to washable nappies rather than provide a complete set of nappies at a much reduced price. Limiting the amount of packs supplied means that more parents are given the opportunity to try the nappies.
Apologies - these covers are only available to East Sussex County Council residents - not Brighton and Hove.
We have a few prorap covers available. They are the same as the one in the photograph above (the prefold pack). They have a polyester urethane laminate and fasten with Velcro® and (at the moment) are available in just one size : newborn (6-10 lbs). The Prorap covers have been used by local parents as part of the Children's Centre's loan schemes. They are in a fairly good condition. Although the covers are clean, we would advise you to wash them before use. They should be washed at 60°C as the covers will perish if the temperature is too high. These will only be available while stocks last.
We have a few adult t-shirts available in sizes: small, medium, large and extra large. They are white with the Real Nappy Network logo on the front ("time for a change - time for real nappies"). These are old promotional stock. Let me know if you'd like one (and which size you require) and I'll put it in the post to you.
We have a few baby t-shirts available. They are white with the Real Nappy Network logo on the front ("time for a change - time for real nappies"). These are from a supply of old competition prizes. Let me know if you'd like one and I'll put it in the post to you.
To apply for any of the above, please e-mail nappies@eastsussex.gov.uk with details of your name, postal address, phone number, and what you'd like - please state the size covers you require and your child's date of birth. Please could also say whether or not you currently use washable nappies and if so, which style or brand.
We're trying to find out how many people are using washable nappies and live in the East Sussex County Council area (sorry, not Brighton and Hove City Council residents).
If you use washable nappies please would you print out the simple form below, fill it in and send it back to us and we'll send you a free pack of disposable nappy liners for your trouble.
Please return the form to: Lisa Mooney, Environmental Action Team, Transport and Environment, East Sussex County Council, FREEPOST (LW43), Lewes, East Sussex. BN7 1BR
