2) Your baby's date of birth or your due date.

3) The size and type of waterproof outer you require (small/medium/large; plain/patterned).

4) Where you heard about the starter packs (antenatal class, website, friend, etc).

5) A cheque for £10.00.

If you live in Brighton & Hove, address the cheque to Brighton & Hove City Council and send the information to: Team Administrator, Sustainability Team, Brighton & Hove City Council, Room 236, Kings House, Hove, BN3 2LS. Please use the Brighton & Hove order form:

Brighton & Hove City Council Residents Order Form

If you live in East Sussex (not including Brighton & Hove), address the cheque to East Sussex County Council and send the information to: Waste Management, East Sussex County Council, County Hall, St Annes Crescent, Lewes, E Sussex, BN7 1UE.

We allow for 1 pack of each type of nappy to be purchased for each nappy-wearing child in a family. You cannot purchase a one-pack of shaped nappies and a three-pack for the same child. The intention is to give parents the opportunity to washable nappies rather than provide a complete set of nappies at a much reduced price. Limiting the amount of packs supplied means that more parents are given the opportunity to try the nappies.

Clearance of Old Stock:

Free Prorap Covers

We have a limited number of prorap covers available. They are the same as the one in the photograph above (the prefold pack). They have a polyester urethane laminate and fasten with Velcro® and are available in two sizes : newborn (6-10lbs) or small (9-14lbs). The Prorap covers have been used by local parents as part of the Children's Centre's loan schemes. They are in a fairly good condition.

Although the covers are clean, we would advise you to wash them before use. They should be washed at 60°C as the covers will perish if the temperature is too high.

They are available free to residents of East Sussex. These will only be available while stocks last.

To apply, please e-mail nappies@eastsussex.gov.uk with details of your name, postal address, phone number, the size covers you require, and your child's date of birth. Please could also say whether or not you currently use washable nappies and if so, which style or brand.

Both the used prefold nappies and terry towelling nappies which had previously been advertised on this site have now all been sent out - we're sorry for any disappointment.

Free Washable Trainer Pants

We have a limited number of Motherease Trainer pants, available free to residents of Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. Trainer pants are the next stage on from nappies, and are not designed to be super absorbent. Pants are available in small (20-30lbs) or extra-large (40-60lbs) and are subject to availability. You may apply for one pair of pants per potty-training child.

To apply, please contact us with details of your name, address, the size you require, and your child's date of birth.
